I was putting a 39 TG into turns at over 90 on an oval course two weekends ago. They handle really nice, and there arent many brands left I havent run.

Look at the drives in the video. Its looks to me to be mechanical failure or he hit something. I believe it has nothing to do with the boat or driver. At least it didnt happen at 100.

True but Im not one to speculate. Glad everyone is safe!

Nice job to the salvage crew. Glad to hear the passengers are OK. This was posted under the youtube video if anybody didnt catch it.

This boat capsized and sunk near Kelleys Island in Lake Erie this afternoon. Crews from Rescue Marine, Lake Erie Towing, New Wave SCUBA, and Shrock's Marina worked together through the evening to right, refloat, and safely hoist the vessel from the water.
Once all of the passengers were safe and accounted for the salvage plan was outlined. There was no pollution so the SCUBA diver strategically attached an air lift bag to roll and refloat the vessel. While in-tow the other vessels on-scene monitored the vessel's stability. Once the situation was safe, personnel and salvage dewatering pumps were transferred to the vessel.

Very cool recovery operation, hats off to everyone involved!!

Trim and other electronically controlled items go nuts once submerged. Don't read into the trim position just yet. Everyone did the same thing when the DCB went over ad DS.

Not to mention that the stern of the boat was sitting on a rocky lake bottom with the weight of the boat possibly pushing against the drives.

The guys at Lake Erie Towing - Towboatus Sandusky, Huron, Vermilion, Lorain AND Shrock's Marina Inc. are pretty experienced in the area.. & always do a great job in towing and salvage. Glad no one was seriously hurt. They brought a 45' Cary in last summer off the Cedar Point break wall.. but were not able to pull it up and out like they did this one.. it came submerged all the way back in.

at :23 to :27 the video shows a plume of diesel smoke from up high, so I am thinking that it was a pretty heavy duty commercial type tow rig, not the typical twin outboard setup.

I am impressed how they went about thier business.
