I'm already handling the claim and I'm glad nobody was hurt.

Sy will this boat be totaled like it would be in a salt water submersion or will they fix it and give it back to the owner? There was some disagreement on another thread that fresh water boats are fine to get dried out and fixed.

I can't answer that question yet,the claims people have to make that call.

I've seen trips where the props touch when a trim relay sticks and the toe changes.I wonder

What happens to the boat if it is totaled? Do they issue salvage titles like on a car?

Orthobam, nope released like there was never an issue w/ the hull!!

No they show up at an insurance/salvage auction, someone buys it and pieces it back together then usually dumps it on Ebay without mentioning the "submarine duty!"

Like this one for example: 2006/2012 CIGARETTE TOP GUN GT 38' COMPLETELY OVERHAULED, READY TO GO in Powerboats & Motorboats | eBay Motors

I only asked Sy about it since someone argued that fresh water submersion is not that bad and other than drying it out/fixing electronics the boats are fine.

I would like to have something like this bought at a salvage price. I would like a project to work on for several years and this hull would be a killer starting point.

Seems they are now eluding to the potential for water damage at some point...

"IT WAS CONVEYED WHEN PURCHASED THAT THIS BOAT HAD FLOODED. FOUND SOME WATER IN ONE ENGINE AND ONE FUEL TANK. ALL FLUIDS & FUEL WERE FLUSHED, BATTERIES REPLACED AND ENGINES STARTED IMMEDIATELY. DUE TO HIGH HOURS AND CONCERN FOR POSSIBLE ISSUES THE ENTIRE DRIVE SYSTEM WAS REBUILT INCLUDING ALL ELECTRICALS AND GUAGES. EVERY PART THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE AFFECTED HAS BEEN REMOVED, REBUILT OR REPLACED THE BOAT IS VIRTUALLY NEW"

Amazing how strong those bow eyes are.

There's a reason they are also called lift rings.
