The contrasts and lines in this Jay Nichols image are really cool, Image of the Week: Making the Turn.

Plus, it perfectly captures a moment we've all had to deal with.

Matt,

Great shot. This type of traffic shows why I always take the far inside or far outside lane. It's far safer.

I'm with you, Tom. Part of staying out of harm's way is ... staying out of harm's way.

This picture gives a great overall view of the reason for the wide sweep when leaving the North Sound at the start of the poker run. If you click on Jay's picture to enlarge, on the far left you will see a sailboat just off the tip of the reef. My picture shows the reef and the deep blue water beyond. There are reefs on both sides of the cut so as pace boat we ran the centre of the channel. Many of the boats have " local knowledge " tho and short cut it as you can see in Jay's pic. The water depths are fairly easy to read in BVI at least on a sunny day like we had. Some points of interest in my pic: Leverick Bay Resort, host of the event mid right side of pic; Saba Rock Resort, top right side; Richard Branson's Necker Island top left. The large island in the middle of pic is Prickly Pear Island.
