We have a Yukon XL Denali, it only comes with the 6.0 litre but has 320 hp and 380 torque, the 8.1 in the 3/4 ton is 340 and 455. I tow 9000lb trailers of equipment all day long. On trips averaging 78 mph with cruise, air, and 7 people on the computor our average was 16.2 this weekend, cant beat it. When I tow that trailer from Destin to here, 3 hrs, with the trailor we only averaged 10.8, still not bad. Also it has that awesome adjustable suspension and 17" rims, and best of all GMAC financing is now 0% for 60 months on that particular vehicle. This vehicle is quite a bit nimbler as well as more plush than our 2000 Suburban, I think of it as a heavy 1/2 ton or light 3/4 ton without the 8.1 litre but with better mileage and almost as much towing capacity. I use my Duramax for my heavy equipment

You can also add a Hypertech programmer, and a FIPK k&N air filter, thats good for an additional 20 plus hp. Or even better, WHIPPLE CHARGE IT

To each his/her own mopower. I was not sure about the AV's looks at first, as it is radically different from anything out there. As soon as I cut and pasted a few pictures and mated it up to my Sonic; I was sold. The AV is all angles, as is the Sonic, and they look great together. I was going to go with a 2500HD until this financing thing came out, only because I wanted a D/A combo. Eh, I will wait until the next truck for that. Also, when you look at the versatility of this truck, it is amazing.

I've got an 02 2500 Avalanche with the 8.1L and 3.73. Yesterday I got 15 mpg all highway averaging 75-80. Filled up in Tennessee and filled again 33.3 gal. north of Detroit with 500 miles on the trip. I have been getting around 12 in the city. The truck's great, you can't beat the utility and versatility if you don't need a standard pickup all the time. The only problem is that my parking brake let go last week and I can't get it into a dealership for another week since I gotta go to Cinci. Makes launching and retreiving a little interesting...
