All my life I wanted a pole barn to finally have all my toys in one place, MY PLACE. well the dream came throug this year. with a LOT of help from family and friends like Waterfoul, I built my 36'x56' barn with 12x12 door and 9x16 door. washroom with toilet, sink, and plans for the compressor, hot water heater, and pressure washer in their too.
have been collecting Auto racing banners, etc for years as well as some concept artwork from General Motors advanced design studio from California to put up. now I can finally have my 1970 Buick skylark, 1937 Ford Fastback, 1932 Ford Ratt rod, and 1937 willys jeep in my place!! too bad no time to work on them toys. |
Rambunctious, I know what you mean I BOUGHT this place for the garages and hoped the wife liked the house.  Once I knew the lift would fit inside the big one we shook hands on the deal:) But I already running out of room:confused: Just picked up a 73 Trans Am last week 455 matching #'s anyone looking for a project?

Me and my shop......one day i'll have indoor plumbing !!!
|
I have plans for mine, no building yet, but soon.
40x60 divided in half. 30x40 shop for me and the project boat(s). 30x40 to store the running boat, horse trailer, tractor and hay. May have indoor plumbing too, we'll see. If not, I've got an old toilet for the front porch. That should keep nosy neighbors away! |
Building my second one as we speak. this one is 30 X 50 with a 13' ceiling and its for my boat only. Going to put in a cat-walk in the rear so I won't need to climb up and down a ladder. Should be done this week. Like Wildfire my other is used for tractors, dune buggy and 2 ATV 4-wheelers and everything else. I think next I'll build one for my cars

daaaaaamn Wardey . . .you must be do'n pretty well . . .i aint got me a phone in my bathroom . . . :D

Just starting a new Garage next week with a house attached for the wife and kids. I'm building down hill on a steep lot so my architect designed a side load garage about 12 feet below street level, with a suspended concrete slab ceiling for the front load, street level garage up above for the boat and toys. Totally trick but no pix yet. Can't wait to get it built and get the boat out of the Cover-it tent I've got it in.

Boys, Boys, Boys,.....I am probably the only wife who suggested to my husband that he needed to think about adding on to the garage (3 car and double deep) in order to get the new boat in there. We were comfortably fitting in our 290 Enticer, but the 37 AVH Active Thunder just won't fit. (It's a little more than a "doghouse on the back" will cover):D Seems kind of empty now with the 290 gone. Just have a 65 Mustang, 87Vette, F350 Truck, Expedition and Dodge Shadow in it.:D
Gotta love a girl like me....I'd even take a bigger garage with an attached bedroom. (No kitchen please, I don't want to cook):p |
Here are some pictures of my garages (and the house) before they get cluttered. My 28 Skeekcraft fits in the "small" garage :D

We built this last year at this time. 60 wide x 40 long (can expand length later) 16' eve height. Two roll up doors and rough plumbed for bathroom w/ shower. It's all I could afford to build but w/ bikes and cars it is full.
|
Ok, here is my garage. It's kinda big so I allow a few of my freinds to keep their boats in there. Oh, we also sprung for a lift truck too.:D
Actually this is my boats' "garage" sice this is where it stays. The boat in the picture is OSO board member WMS 's new PQ 340. This was right after he took delivery in Dec. and the boat is being "put to bed" for the first time. WMS is there making sure the lift driver does it right!! ;) |
Bill,
That looks just like my garage!:D That boat should not be angled down like that, though! ----------------- MrOffshore, That trailer is wicked cool! Very Nice...:) |

Here is my shop I had 3 Years ago. I probably spent more time in the shop than the house. In a three year period I managed to restore a 76 MG midget, 81 Z28, 78 Camaro, 81 Chevy truck, 72 Chevelle SS ,41 Chevy panel truck, 88 Nordic, and way to many small projects to count.

Here it is. 400 square feet of insulated manufacturing and engine building space. Complete with 5000 watts of electric heat to keep it at 40 degrees in the winter, 2500 cfm dust collection system. Along with a kerosene heater to get it to 70 so its comfortable so the cost of electric doesn't kill me. Eletric is 100 amp service from the house with 220 for the saw, compressor, heat and dust collector. On the other side of the saw is about 1000 board feet of oak, walnut and cherry to take up even more space.
Believe it or not, I built 2 engines and ported 4 heads at the same time in here while running my wood working business. In the back ground there are 3 pieces in progress for a woman in Cocoa Florida that is putting them in a national magazine. I also share the space with a 28 inch snow blower, kids electric jeep and tractor. I need more room!! But then I would just fill it up with more stuff. |
