Kind of like a hybrid. The big motor is only used when accelerating.... Once on plane it shuts down the big engine and uses the more economical smaller motor. Wonder if it has regenerative braking? Or maybe the prop on the big motor while free spinning, creates energy that is stored in a Capacitor of sorts. THen there is a reserve of burst energy when needed....
