Question Glastron CSS24

Not that I was planning on getting one of these, but this boat looks interesting.

Anybody have any opinions on this hull design?

Good, junk or whatever?

I'd be interested in seeing some performance numbers. Other than that I think it is goofy looking. The nose is too short and I don't care for the transom. It looks like a big sneaker.

A friend of mine had one, although I think it was a CSV24 (sold it to buy my 260 Sonic). He had a 7.4L and the boat ran around 60. He had problems with stringers (ended up getting another boat from Glastron) and other warranty stuff. Rode in it a couple of times. Not bad, but nothing I'd go ga ga over.

He liked the Carlson, but likes the Sonic better
Lousy trade in value too.

There was a delaer somewhere in upstate NY that was selling a 2001 leftover with a 496 (and trailer) for $35K.

That hulls' looks are more revolutionary than the performance...I'll bet. It has such a small area in which to pack air, I just cant see it being close to an actual tunnel. I suppose the best attribute of this design might be more stability at rest. You gotta give it to Art Carlson though, his boats are unique and fun to look at even the older ones.

And it comes with a Volvo Pinto engine.. How many drink holders??
God ..when I was a kid Carlsons were king on the lake ..at one point I had an 18' intimidator with 454 jetovator ..woohoo , loved hosing people down with that thing..
Now Carlsons are right up there with bayliners, its sad..
