compared speeds with bravo lower vs imco standard lower
i figured id post this because i read the forum and never reall found any good comparo back to back info.
i have a 29' kryptonite with an xr dwp drive. the boat runs 93.6mph best and usually gets 92 any day. a friend of mine has an imco standard length lower so i gave that a try. i was all excited hoping i was gonna get 94-95.. i had a hard time getting just over 90. i got 90.5 out of it when i should have gone at least 92. i put the bravo dwp back on.. and right back to where i was. the extended point must only benefit when its closer to the surface. im approx 3" below the bottom of the boat and have a stepped transom. hope this helps someone who was wondering forever like me Ray |
The Imco's are know to use speed that is why some people just get the Imco upper and run bravo lower.
The Imcos are stronger than the bravos not faster. |
I had same experience with a imco -2 shorty vs stock length lower with well blended hydromotive nose cone, boat lost 2-3 mph in same exact speed range you mention, added a 1 inch spacer and it lost even more, put full length bravo lower back on and speeds were right back in mid ninetys at the time, Smitty
