Anybody run a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in their dash?

What kind of line did you run?
Have a mechanical gauge and debating (the safety issue)about running a line to the dash (its a carb motor).

if you have to run a mechanical gauge you need an isolator. do not run a raw fuel line to the dash, personally I would not run one for any reason. Electronics and sensors have come a long way in the last ten years.

yes run isolator ( which is basically a diaphragm , and you fill line to gage with mineral oil ) so whole line is full of fluid however no gasoline to dash for obvious reasons

Mine is plumbed that way from the factory. It has very thick black rubber hose. May want to go electric though.

Well, I can see why DCB would use mechanicals...my gaffrig sender has been replaced twice and the newest one is flakey at best. I can also see that being a terrible idea, in fact, I have never seen that before.

When I first started looking for a cafe there was this pretty nice one with no cabin as a result of fire which I believe was a result of a mech fuel gauge.

I then heard it burned AGAIN a couple years later, though I have no idea if it was the same cause

I would bet that you have an isolator...seeing that it is a DCB.

My F32 has mechanical high pressure gauges, braided steel to the gauges.

Hard to believe it would not have an isolator being a high pressure line in the passenger compartment!

my 1984 10 meter Fountain had a copper line from the carb to the gauge in the dash. I removed it before I ever ran it.
