so my situation comes up and its I'm thinking about a brand new 260 because it has everything, but it also comes with a big payment big block and much more fuel cost. Brought to my attention I won't be out doing nearly the playing I'm doing now due to the added costs.

Very true! That seems to be the norm around here. Everyone is buying much bigger boats, and boating less than ever.

If your boat does 62 now, a 502 Mag MPI should get you to 70.
You can go the Procharger route, but IMO you should find someone that can tune it for you. |
Never saw what kind of drive this boat has. If it's an Alpha at the most you will be able to build the small block to around 400 HP and keep the drive together. No supercharger or big blocks. If it's a Bravo then you have something to work with. Bang for the buck would be a used HP500. You could also build a nice 450 HP small block, but it would probably end up costing more. I'd shy away from a supercharger unless you build the engine to handle it and tune it properly.

Its a Bravo 1 drive as well as the bravo 1 22p prop. 1:50 ratio

Bob's your guy if you are really wanting to pump some HP into your motor. Kind of a far drive from MD to TX, but worth it in my mind. I'm just glad I only live 500 miles from him!
Bob, we had a blast last week! Did you get any of the videos that Brian or Bill took with their GoPro? |
You could build a decent Long Rod 400+ci Small Block for about what a Procharger cost. Then your exhaust and other stuff will fit it... It'll be 50ci bigger than a smallblock, 50ci smaller than a Bigblock.. it is the perfect motor for smaller boats. Not as heavy as a Big Block :)

stroker small block in a boat that size would be fun,if you like the boat.lighter too.keep it n/a it will last longer and be easier on the drive.shouldnt be too tough to get what you want done.

Wedge nose cone, not the round bullet shape nose cone will pick up 3-6mph for $100.00 if running Mercury Bravo or alpha drive. I put one on a Volvo SX and gained 3mph. Wedge shape nose cones work better for boat running less than 100 mph
