It was last seen there laying in a field...It was sold to one of the "Atami Cup" racers ( a once a year event held in the bay at Atami, Japan. These guys would buy used American race boats in their prime and take them over there for the event..and then, apparently dispose of the boats in favor of a newer hull for the next year. A bunch of hulls wound up there including a 4 engined Popeye's Cougar with a two place back to back cockpit that was never raced by Al in the US. Bob Idoni and the late "Smitty" Smith had the contacts.

I'm picturing a rotting museum behind some marina in Japan right now. Crazy.

after the tsunami in Japan in '11 some of them may wind up washed up back here.
