How many powerboat companies still are operating under the founding owner?...very few! The new company may have stepped on their own toes by having Reggie do this..time will tell. I say build a couple new models..1 with more room in the cockpit and cabin for the guys with families that want to go fast and look cool but need the room and the other maybe a sit down model that is lightweight for the guys that just want to haul azz and look cool.

I'm looking forward to seeing the first complete build by Real Fast Marine, whenever that happens.

My bad...It was just off the top of my head in 2 minutes. Point being...There's a sh!t load of companies that are still owned by the orignal owners.

I'm thinking this thread is a great excuse for one of our boys from Speed on the Water to conduct an interview w/ Mr. Fountain providing him w/ another opportunity to set the record straight as to what his involvement w/ Fountain Powerboats is today (as they requested), let us know what he's been up to and what we might see in the near future!

Remember it takes hundreds of thousands to begin a process of building boat molds, and all other parts included in the process. For those of you who keep saying Reggie build this or that, get out your check book and put him in business. If it were that easy I am sure Big Reg would be building boats and putting full page adds in all of the major publications just like he used to. Reggie was always good to me and I think a lot of him, but to start over at his age, I doubt it, and I also doubt that little Reg and Wyatt have the funds to start without serious help.

Perhaps the new owner will be able to keep the company out of bankruptcy.Built and sold more offshore preformance boats than any other company, but still went bankrupt 2-3 times, not a hater, but fact are facts. Give the company to someone who can actually turn a profit, while putting out a decent product. And give credit where credit is due, what about Gary Garbrecht? Him and Reggie designed and built the first Executioner (not Fountain then), and Reggie kept the same design until about 1989.
