I was there when that happened. I have pictures of the boat minus the front/bow in th pits. you guys stuffed the boat mid week, I think ?? You guys dominated with that boat for years.

It raced years later once...as Coors Light.

The original owner, Terry Phillips, came out of a 70+ Mph Sport Class Cigarette...and stepped into that 120 mph Open class Cat .......after one or two test runs...He suddenly had a change of "priorities" and let the project languish.

Great thread.

Seeing these "old" boats brings many fond memories. Offshore racing was really fun "back in the day".

Innovative design and engineering, with one boat rule 30' - 50'
made things interesting.

I remember the Black Duck boat thoroughly. That was one of my favorites to see as a kid every summer when we went to Point Pleasant for the Benihana.

I remember my grandparents would hold me by the arms and swing me into the waves at Point Pleasant while I watched my dad go by(in 1st place of course!) :drink:
