Payton,Broke my toy again!

Mark,
Thanks for your help and muscel on getting my cat our of the water..
I was too discouraged to mess with it tonight to see what the heck happen to it. It seemed that I was running in the snotty stuff and was trying to get up on the top of the water and then I hit one of them swells at about 90 and it thru me up and the whole boat came out of the water, I got off it,maybe a little late, I got back on it and the starboard engine went up to 6500 !! Shut it down and limped back to port, I really thought that I broke the shaft and lost the prop, never heard any noise ar all. I was more surprised than anyone when I got the boat out of the water and the prop was still there.. I couldnt understand how it could break a inch and a quater shaft that fast with no noise, will check in the morning, most likely a coupler.. but thanks anyway, I owe you one!!:D :D

Keep her together for shootout!!!

I know you have been pretty pumped about it. Hopefully it is only minor damage. The big lake will win every time even if you have a 40 footer!! Be careful:D

Big lake,Big toys!

Craig
Think that you are right, Im getting ready to go down to the barn now and try and find what went wrong. When I checked yesterday the prop turned both ways with it in geat (not running) and neither way forward or reverse when running, but still no noise! Yhats why I think it may be the coupler,or with the extention boxes it might be a shaft, who knows, whats your guess? The big lake plus myself got me. I should not have been getting on it so hard in bad weather, but! better here than in Mo. at the shootout:D :D
Let you know tonight.

Hey Les, I hope it's only the coupler.

Geez, You launched at 90! Several times all I had in the water were my props and that was at 40. Linda didn't want me to go any faster than that.

Hey if you want to ride to Racine next Sat., you can ride with me. Linda can't go. It should be fun, if the weather is good we may have 20 or more boats.

What did you find out, Les?

I would pull the drain plug and check the fluid first. If that comes out clean then you probably can go for the coupler. I would hate to see you go through all that work and NOT find the problem. Good luck. It is easy to blow prop shafts when you do not get on and off the throttles correctly.
