Did I see somewhere that there were 450 hours on engines? Still.......

2 Trick Rick 08-13-2013 02:30 PM

Did not notice that part, but 60k seems pretty reasonable for a 32 Skater with Merc SC600's

Ryan Beckley 08-13-2013 03:44 PM

It looks nice, OTHER than, I believe it is a BRAVO boat.......

speicher lane 08-13-2013 06:27 PM

perfect platform for an Arneson conversion... and you could do an accurate before/after mph reporting as an offering to the OSO brothern

Obviously you would have to really want an "A" boat and justify the $$$ for Arneson's in the long run...but if you really like the boat and planned on having it for a while - Arneson's would really open up your options for future upgades WITH reliability

ratman 08-13-2013 07:32 PM

i just happen to know where a complete pair of arneson #8 drives are for a mere 10k dollars.......

If someone put 450 hours on it the way it is, why the he ll would you screw with it. Rebuild power and run it!

I agree, but Who said they have 450?looks like a good deal, not in the cards right now for Me,maybe next year.

...cause it's always a quest for more speed. Pyburn's 388 was blistering with 1350's @ 183 - now he's turning 1650's

Simply rebuild the black 600's and run'em???

Everybody on here would be tweaking for a bit more from the motors is it was cost effective... and so it starts from there, but it always comes back to the bravo's limiting the boat

glassdave 08-14-2013 03:14 AM

sure looks like a decent deal. wonder what it runs with that set up.

smiklos@sunprint 08-14-2013 06:33 AM

Good props/cg/drive height and it should be 115 MPH Plus Plus and you can make Bravo's live at that power level.

I think it would be a great boat for the new illmor 570's

Because they could have went through 10 drives in that time period. I would expect those drives to hold up for a while in flat water, but I suspect they wouldn't hold up very well in rougher conditions behind those SC engines.

A Skater with bravos is like a v-6 Mustang or Camaro.

Unlimited jd 08-14-2013 07:18 AM

Best analogy ever! ^^^^^

I had said that but now I cannot find where I thought that I saw it. I could very well be wrong. I wish that insurance would not be such a barrier.

Both make a great daily driver

JRider 08-14-2013 08:40 AM

Remember this is that this is a light efficient hull...not a straight bottom big ass v hull. Meaning that when that when you hit the throttle it goes somewhere instead of just loading the **** out of the drives like a vhull water plow. BTW, I am sure they are XRs not just bravos.

I have not had a had a problem with my XR upper in my blown application and I'm sure I am way north of 600.

smiklos@sunprint 08-14-2013 12:53 PM

While the Bravo's have their weakness so will a heavier system drive on this boat. This is a narrow sponson narrow tunnel boat that was designed around outboards and their light weight. As you add weight to this boat (six drives and transmissions would be 800+ pounds) The hop range will increase greatly and cruising at low speeds will be less comfortable.

BRET 08-14-2013 01:57 PM

I have a 625 ilmor in a 28' cat with a Teague drive(bravo based) and have had no problems yet.

AJ POWERPLAY 08-15-2013 05:39 PM

That sounds like a killer setup bret!:ernaehrung004:

Griff 08-16-2013 01:16 AM

A lot of boat for the $$$, but hard to finance and hard to insure for most people looking in that price range.

Thanks,

My first cat. I love it. The Ilmor is awesome. So much midrange power.

The insurance is what is going to kill most people searching for a boat in this price range. Big HP and a cat, I would also bet people at that price area have never had a twin engine cat or a bigger HP boat.
