Handling at WOT problem
I own a powerplay xlt with a 406 with 450hp, at WOT throttle Ive noticed the boat leans kinda to the port side and the bow is kinda point it downward. Its VERY hard to keep it from flipping over almost. This starts to happen around 65-67 mph and after that I can no longer handle it. I still have more throttle to give it but it just becomes a nightmare to handle. I am trimmed out properly and the weight distribution seems to be right. Kinda clueless with this, Im running a alpha SS and a tempest plus 23p and problem actually gets worst with a few more people in the boat and I only keep about 10 gallons of fuel on board. Can anyone help me with this issue?

How deep is your drive sitting ? it could be installed too low ,so that the anti ventilation plate above the prop is getting full water.
This plate should be aprox 1/2 inch or so above the lowest point of the bottem (plate level with bottem ) |
My 22' with a 500EFI has significant torque steer to port until I trim it up. As I speed up and trim up the torque steer factor goes away. I'm running a Mirage+ which gives me quite a bit of bow lift. Maybe try a different prop to get more bow lift. Could the Tempest be giving you stern lift? I didn't think this was a stern lift prop.

Sounds like you aren't trimmed high enough causing bow steer and torque roll. What happens when you trim it higher?
Im not a full member so I can post pics, but this link takes you to the boat I own... http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/p...hed-xlt-3.html |
Trim it up more!
