Cleaning Suggestions Windshield on Cat
1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys, Recently put a windshield on my 28' Skater. Use the boat in salt water and the spray from the tunnel blows up the deck sometimes and I wanted to know if anyone has found a good way to keep it clear as possible. Was thinking rain X?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks |
I would not try Rain-ex.
This is what many folks use on canopies and the like: http://www.plexusplasticcleaner.com/about.html |
Brian is right, I wouldn't use rain-x on it without some testing... the solvent might cloud the polycarb. Some guys use wax on polycarb, but I'd suggest testing it in a small area or on a test panel first.
Regardless, salt will still build up and it will also scratch the surface if you try to wipe it off dry. A washer system would really help, if you don't mind the spray from it. I believe it was Chris at Ocean Performance that was telling me they used Salt-away in a spray bottle with excellent results. |
Don't use plexus, it has petroleum distillates in it and will eventually turn it yellow. We used to use it on PPF until I found out the MSDS on it. use a product called brillianize... specifically made for laminates, so good you can use it on big screen TV's.. I stock it if you need some i can get it to you.
