whether you love him or hate him, you have to respect Reggie for all that he has accomplished and done for powerboating. I have known him for a long time, my dad, Ernest Schmidt, gave him the Molinari tunnel boat that he raced way back when. I rigged the red, white and blue 40' that you see at the beginnig of the trailer along with the 47' triple that he raced after that before moving on to Super Hawaii Racing. We had Fountain on the Alcone Motorsports Open Class boat. I have not always agreed with some of what he did but I have never known anyone with the passion and dedication that Reggie has for boats and boat racing and there will likely never be anyone who can match his enthusiasm. long live the King.

I've never owned a Fountain but I can't think of anyone who's brought more attention to powerboating in the US. I truly admire his passion and all or nothing persona! Thanks Reggie.

To me Reggie Fountain certainly deserves the title "King of Offshore" and I look forward to seeing this documentary about him. A documentary like this is great for the sport and I can't wait to watch it.

Gonna have to disagree with that. Only one guy can fill those shoes.

Aronow definitely built some phenomenal boats and companies. I still think Reggie's is king of offshore unless someone can challenge his number of wins both personally and as a manufacturer.

I am almost certain if Aronow wasn't murdered you would be making a different statement.

Personally, I have owned a dozen fountain boats over the past couple of decades. Reggie was incredibly supportive with each of my pleasure boats, customized race boats and the design of new race/pleasure boats. Now he loves to chat about the other boat designs that we are experimenting with. I have been fortunate to know him as a boat builder, a competitor ,a friend and as a patient. This is well deserved.
