Well here's the update. Drum roll please..........Bad Sensor. Mechanic hooked up an external oil pressure gauge and was at 55 PSI. No metal in filter and doing a full service, checking EVERYTHING. I will get the scoop on the alarm going off and the dash gauge reading zero, if there are separate sensors , etc. The alarm would only sound for me when I tried to go on plane, otherwise it would idle without alarm and gauge reads zero with a red warning light on. Maybe there is a limp mode, once RPM are up alarm goes off? Its great news for me, the engine is good and we are on track for Lake Cumberland Poker Run. I will repay the engine gods by doing the top end services at the end of the season.

Might want to check the drive and power steering bottles, alarm coming on plane is often low fluid.

You need to say who did the testing on your motor as they sound like a very honest marine shop. If they were dishonest they had for rebuilds and easy pickins.
