Philly Poker Run
The weather was great, I only wish I could have been there!!!!!
So, give us the details!!!! How did everthing go??? |
In a nutshell:

Absolutely GREAT time with great people!
Hot, HOT, HHOOTTTTT!
About 40 really nice boats.
Not too much debris in the river, considering it rained the night before....
Pretty smooth water, except for the "Tugboat wakes from hell". (And you thought that we were kidding about those at the drivers' meeting....)
Special guest appearance by Sean Stinson (but no BCC).
I got to pace the second group. :D
Great food at all three meals.
In short - another wonderful NJPPC event!
|
We had a great time, a little too hot! All in all, a wonderful afternoon, a great bunch of people to hang with!

Did Not Finish. |
Without a doubt one of the most enjoyable runs I have been on.
The people in the Philly/Delaware are top shelf! Everyone was friendly and courtious.....It was a real JOY! Everyone ran together and no one had anything to proove. Thank you to everyone who attended. Congrats to the winners! 1. Tom Healey - (2yrs in a row!) 2. Larry Moskowitz - 1st time on a go-fast boat. He spent his winnings by buying everyone drinks and 40 shots at the hotel bar that night. 3. John Kornett - 2nd time winning 3rd in a NJPPC Poker Run And BajaBob & Carol - very sorry to hear about your engine ordeal. |
IT WAS A LOT OF FUN
VERY WELL ORGANIZED EXCEPT FOR THE DAMM PLASTIC THAT GOT ME TWICE IN THE PICK UPS
|
What a great club!

Good Samaritan Award: Ray Schmalzigan: He worked on AT LEAST half a dozen other boats during lunch, and then came over to the docks early Sunday morning and fixed DaveP's boat while DaveP was still in bed sleeping!!! |
Sorry I could not be there, but bent pushrods prevented me from attending
Perhaps next year BOB what happened dude? |
Ray Schmalzigan is THE MAN!!!
He gets 2 thumbs up! |
That's easy for you to say! YOU were sleeping in a hotel room two blocks away when he lit that monster off at 7 freaking 15 in the morning while it was backed up to the seawall. I, on the other hand, WAS (past tense) sleeping in the cabin of my boat 5 slips away. I thought that something had exploded....
