I bought a used 2001 Daytona 26. The guy that owned it was a PIG. I have spent three weekends wet sanding and wheeling the entire outside of the boat. I tore the interior out of the boat and was removing excess wiring and junk
found this not connected to anything.

looks like a gps,maybe a tracking device? did you try and run the part number.

Above is correct as posted from google and what merc has stamped on it. A wireless GPS antenna made for Mercury / Mercruiser. they do not make this unit but have it made by some communication / antenna company. I do not remember the company who makes it for them.
