Most of the gear heads want to be hands on and don't want or don't have the other skills needed to be a engineering lead.

"Individual will manage all engineering & design programs & activities strategically to provide a companywide impact of growth. This will include creating plans, procedures, timelines and performance metrics of various technical programs. The Lead Engineer will communicate engineering project status and direction to applicable departments at Ilmor and to report to the executive management team."

Spoke with them yesterday. They wanted me to move to Michigan, and the pay was only six figures.


They were still crying when I hung up on them.
