Talk to Mark @ LI Propeller. He repairs cmi's and also repaired a crack that I got in a brand new emi thunder stainless riser with less than 2 hrs. running time on it . His number is 631-345-6295 and he is on long island in new york.

can these headers be welded with any certainty that they will not fail again? I was told by someone with tons of experience Im wasting my time

All headers for boats are a bad design, one pipe is 1000deg the outer pipe is 100deg and they are welded together. The welds will fail over time. Keep in mind what are your options sell headers every 2 years and buy new? The best set up is a cast manifold, if the can make good power.
