Default Who's trailer popped off the ball at the launch ramp

We were anchored up near the launch ramp Thursday afternoon at state dock watching the big boys put there boats in. I can't remember now what kind of boat or truck it was but the boat was a biggin. We just heard a loud bang and everything rolled back a bit till the safety chains saved her. Looked like there were plenty of helpful people around chocking up the wheels an all that. That happened to us once when I was a kid so I can totally relate to the pucker factor

I've trailered from home, gas station, marina, launched boat, retrieved boat, drove home only to find out I did not latch the ball down. Lucky I guess?

Might get flogged for this but... I once towed a 25 Sunsation home about 150 miles and realised I forgot to put lever down and pin through. Very lucky...

Did the same thing this year....hooked up the empty trailer and latched it down, but it grabbed on top of the ball somehow. I didn't notice until I got home...after running down the expressway. Ball was totally gouged and I trashed it. Something I always double check now.

That happened to Pyburn at the James run a few years ago but I don't believe there were any chains to save them on that occasion.

Lol my gf was in charge of the camera. I hope she got pics, have to remember we were in the water so all we could see was the ass of the boat. It was a big vee bottom. Also there was a lot of dock partying between then an now, so I can't remember the kind of boat involved lol.
