my first was at 20 years old and had no money but it was a clean a 1987 17' glass stream w/ merc 4 banger alpha I/O. i named it mine-z because i always wanted a donzi but could't afford it but it was mine lol. iv had a lot of boat sense then thats probably why I'm still broke but at least my boat is bigger and nicer now as well lol

1987 Slickcraft 237SC with 454 mag and alpha 1. The drive sucked but the boat was solid and super fast for the style, hit 63mph once but I also had no idea what a gps was. Still see the boat floating around in Grand Haven every now and then, kind of miss it.

In 1991 I bought my first boat. A 1976 16' Glastron / Carlson with blue metalflake paint. A very cool looking boat at the time. Had a 190hp 302 and Volvo 280 drive. That power-package was bullet-proof. Went 60 mph! Great river boat, but would beat you to death on the larger lakes.

Last time I drove it was on a July 4th weekend on Lake Travis many years ago. At min planning speed I was getting 3-4 ft of air! The ride was so rough the throttle quadrant came loose and fell to the floor, knocked the bilge pump loose and I had water in bilge to the top of the oil pan.
I couldn't reach the bilge pump cause the exh would burn my arm. Had to scoop water from the lake to pour on the exh to cool it enough so I could reach waay down and snap the bilge pump back onto its base. Glad those days are over!!

1978 Formula F-18 188/302 on Merc MR-1 drive. This little boat was my one and only for 9 years. I went all over the east coast of Florida and the Keys along with 6 trips to Bimini in this great little boat!!!
