Here is a question for John Arruda. How is the durability of the BPM drive behind the tremendous power of the gas turbines?

How they kept it glued to the water while every other boat in the other races all were getting big air only meant one thing . MGR is really set up well and ready for Key West.
it certainly did appear that qatar 96 had a sizable and distinct power advantage, watching from the beach. i was not aware MG was in guardian mode. what stage in the race did that take place? at the opening flag those two seemed to pull out hard and fast, but qatar murderously powered ahead 1/2 way down the stretch by a good lead. what caused the mercs to go into guardian in such a short race for MG? what prevented the same from happening in OC MD?

I was not in Clearwater so I do not know, only going by what I was told from a reliable source.
ECU's are set for 198 degrees and the engines were at 200 degrees.
Ocean temp was much cooler off the beach vs Clearwater .

good to know...thanks. water in kw will not be as cool as ocean city, will be closer to clearwater temps. i'm sure the gecko team will have a strategy for the cwater issue next month.

If you always make sure the drive has oil in it, I have never had a failure after we starting to modify the internals from the origional BPM design. Prop shafts are good for 6-8 races max.
Note: There are two diffenet models
Hope that was what you where looking for.

Thank you for the response. Turbine Marine puts out an outstanding product. Very unique.

Indeed! Both being Jersey Shore guys we know that two or three of these waves can merge together and push up a single 5 to 6 footer in the midst of the smaller ones. A real eye opener for most, but when you have a powerboat as fast as Miss Mary Mac happen upon one, then you're getting into air traffic lanes for Ocean City Municipal Airport! LOL!! Again, great shot!
