(NON)Mercury Racing Blue Bomb can?
So has anyone put together a home-grown solution to the avoid paying $40 a can for Merc blue from Merc? To me that is gouging! I know there are paint codes available but I dont want the hassle of using a gun.
I did some poking around and found this: http://www.artoo-detoo.net/gallery/v...test1.jpg.html Be sure to check out all the links on the left hand side. If nobody has came up with a paint or paints that will work I am going to test some paints soon. |
It's been done before. Do a search on "Raypanic blue" and you will get the thread results. This was a while back; and not sure if it's still available.

I had this on file from probably 10 years ago, but can't remember all the details. Maybe the OSO paint gurus can break it down. Sorry I could not be of more help.

As a Napa auto parts we can still match the Hyundai paint code "HD" (which is supposedly close). At my location we can put any sprayable toner into a rattle can. I could mix one up and do a spray out then all you guys would have to do is go to your local Napa and have them mix a spray bomb with that formula.

Sounds good

Find an Oreilly that mixes paint if you have a dupont code they can put it in can for you. If you are in MN they can mix it and send it to any store.

I found cobalt blue metallic (rust-oleum) from home depot is really close. And for $5 a can, the diff in metallic is fine
