The boat will run well over 100 MPH with 800 HP and that will depend on what engines and drives and how the boat is set up.
There is a 38 for sale on the Mares web site it is also on Yacht World I can’t seem to post pictures on here any more. |

So that makes the Mares 15-20% slower than the likes of a Nortech ect. is this purly down to the weight of the Mares?
|
If you want speed buy a Nor Tech They are a good boat. Mares has a huge cabin, walk around deck ,cockpit, Sun Pad and swim platform and runs great in rough water .It is comfortable and user friendly . It just depends on how you use your boat .

Thanks Larry I am very happy with the Mares, I was try trying to establish what the differences are between the two hull designs that effect the speed with similar power.
At some point I will be looking for a cruise speed of around 80-90 and was wondering what I need to do to achieve this. Will changing the drive height and a tunnel tab do anything to increase the boats speed? |
