Converting a set of CMI headers to dry
 
Whats all involved converting a set of CMI headers to dry tails ??? anyone done it ?

I thought they were basically all dry with the trails dumping the water right at the end or were you looking to be a totallY dry exhaust stream all the way trough the transom? For that you would need a set of custom tails that go all the way through the transom replacing your existing through hull tips. I've had a couple sets in the shop and all were custom made to spec by cmi.

For fully dry the tails and tips need to be integrated, basically one piece from the header/tail union past the transom and fully jacketed to the end. For this it may be necessary to contact cmi, there's a bit of engineering in the trail. Even though its dry to the end the inner and outer tube are not welded, the inner tube actually floats to allow for some fairly drastic differences in the thermal cycles between the two.
