Default Stupid boat tricks - oldies but goodies!

Here's some pics from boating accidents on Lake Travis in Texas. I can't find the website - it was run by the local law enforcement, and the link is no longer any good - but I did save the pics.

Pic 1 is a 38' Baja...

Driven 80' on to shore at Windy Point near some over night campers.

Pic 4 - definitely a Fountain. No doubt the "beak" was useful in setting that distance record, kind of like how a sprinter will lean into the finish line....

Driven 283' onto the north shore near Lago Vista. Set the Lake distance record.

Pic 6 (only one more to go!) - testing the theory that outboards can be trimmed up more than I/O's....

This night time grounding happened at Grave Yard Point. The Driver and Passenger received injuries.

Pic 7 - last one - typically, the "spotter" is used to watch behind the boat when pulling a skier. This guy probably should have asked his spotter to look forward instead...

Friends dig out a boat that was driven aground on Sometimes Islands

I know this is posted in the Photos section. But it still wins for on of the largest boats to do a stupid trick.
At least he rememberd to put fenders out.

I cannot for the life of me understand how you can drive a boat 283' onto the shore. I get to see stuff like this in person evry once in a while - where the Muskegon Channel meets Lake Michigan there are two breakwalls (one on each side) that stick out quite aways into the lake and for some strange reason people like to run into these as hard as they can. The walls are on every navigation chart and the ends are clearly marked with lights, yet evry year several boats end up on the wall. So far at least two this year.
