Imagine how much faster it would be, if you replaced the McLead interior with something a little lighter?

Your right, that's who I was thinking of....

Rolling Thunder had a Baja Cat that ran OK in its day. KAT was also a Baja Cat. Both were quickly made obsolete with Jaguars, then Skaters-Motions-Spectres etc

I see it has The Very Best in " Bent Pitot Tube" Speed thermometer pickup techmology as well.

Paul Everett was the guy behind the Caiman. I almost bought the tooling about 10 years ago. They were built in Sandusky, Ohio. Paul used guys from Baja to help lay them up.

I own the last one built, #3. It was laid up by a group from Dow as they were trying to finalize a layup schedule and lighten up the hull, the others were laid up by local employees. The hull is a Harry Shoell DDC design and was produced by Paul Everett. They are pretty efficient hulls, ran 93mph with the stock 502mpi's with prop slip in the 3%-4% range.
Mine is currently going thru a complete rerig with 750hp motors, ext. boxes, -2 Sportmaster XR's. It will be interesting to see what the efficiency if the hull does with power. I have talked with Paul Everett several times and he says the design has liked power in the V's that it has been used in. We will see on.
Cig3 PM me, I would like to discuss your thoughts on this design.

Your boat was exactly what I thought when I saw the above pic. Are you repainting it while rerigging it also?

All white with Caiman Logo on the side.
If hull is as efficient with power is it is with stock power then it should be a fun ride. I'll add some pics before too long.
