I think back around 92-93 When Fountain had their 1st Canopied V bottom ( Dragon Lady or Carlos & Charlies) and where trying to set the V bottom record they found that the rounded roof on the Canopy was lifting the boat wrong, they had more speed ( RPM & Power) left but it kept lifting the rear of the boat and caused ill handling. They changed/Moved the top of the canopy to suit. I guess it must have worked...IDK :)

Actually I was being sarcastic. ( I thought funny)
On the other hand at least our pointy end remains at the front of the boat when cornering. It's a V-bottom boat and hydrodynamics come in to play much more than aerodynamics. We've figured out hydrodynamics. |
We found ( on Motorcycles) If you make the front fender more like a Russian submarine. ( rounded looking) You get 4 mph at the traps at Daytona. Aprox 195 mph. This front fender was tested and designed in a wind tunnel
with a rider on the bike. ( I believe the tech did have a beer in his hand) my point is the front may be the most important. |

I have done a little wind testing of my own on several boats. What I found is that when I stick my head above the windshield at anything over 30-35ish, drinking beer becomes extremely difficult. My conclusion is, stay in a slight tuck, therefore reducing drag while maintaining the ability to enjoy my beer without wiping my entire face after every chug.

no,no, no.. Just a flaw in your process.. You just have to look backwards while drinking!! Now, if you hit some waves while performing this act, your rear occupants might be a lil upset. But they rarely help with fuel anyway so tuff.

These guy's seem to do a lot of testing for other companies.:stooges:

Actually we did wind tunnel the new 29 Savage.
We found we run faster if we put the pointy end at the front.
