Good choice you guys have a great event in July, it would be crazy to change that. Room would be a factor also, and getting to the race course 3 differnt days would be a chore. Thr 4th July race is historical......

What makes it a story is that it had been widely reported that Sarasota was in the hunt to host the SBI Worlds (though not by speedonthewater.com because we hadn't been able to verify it) and Sarasota is no longer in the hunt to whatever degree it ever actually was. From a standpoint of negotiation/leverage, that likely changes things for Key West and Clearwater. To what extent that changes things I have no idea, but to ignore this development—now on the record—would be to miss a major development in an unfolding story. Whatever has happened in the past between SBI and Sarasota is not material to what was reported in this story.
Hope that explains things a bit, at least from the journalistic perspective.

Sarasota remains a top venue no mater what JC dreams up next. Even in the middle of Summer the draw is huge, never mind that many SBI teams call it home.
I don't see where changing from the 4th would benefit them at all, unless they're looking for extra snowbirds complaining about parties and loud noise.
