Yes, I am a simplton... but doesn't one get an accurate reading running first downstream, then upstream and taking the average mph as gospil? This basically neutrualizes wind and current from the result.

Digging up bones tonight I see PC Oh yeah, there were some funny posts back in the day.

Also, I appologize to rjcardnal for parroting his advice earlier in the thread. That always pissses me off when it happens to me like I am some sort of chopped liver... Carry on the dig Phantom, its interesting.
