I didn't get to drive a boat there, but my wife and I made the pilgimage about 10 years ago. It's fantastic. Took a ride in a gondola (hold the singing) and a mahogany water taxi over to Murano. Also rode on a water bus. You should see the way they beat the snot out of their transmissions when landing. It is truly a place to see.

Wait a few more years and the global warming will do the same to South Florida, well that with the combined recessions into the sea that FL experiences each year.
