Would these sell if the big players like Outerlimits or Nor Tech sold a version?

MCOB is what you picture shows (mid cabin open bow). I had a 32 Sunsation MCOB and it was a great boat but there are drawbacks:
1. Forward seating is accessed through the cabin (means bending down and crossing through the 4 or 5 ft high cabin). A center console is better for moving around the boat.
2. Open bow area is not ideal for sitting at speed (I would think 30-40 mph would be max on flat water). If you cross a wake at speed the occupants easily could be bounced out. A CC is easier to move to the rear for higher speed running
3. Shade/breeze- one of the best points for the MCOB was the shade/breeze offered in the mid cabin while underway (especially in slow/no wake zones on a hot day). CC's with T-tops offer some shade for the driver (not so much for the passengers though).
4. MCOB to me is a negative on a really fast boat (the 52 OL with 1350's is ridiculous especially with the clamp on bow cover which would make me more nervous in rough seas). That boat was originally built with 90 mph diesels which I thought was interesting but 1350's makes that boat simply too fast to have a hole in the hull! My 32 did low 70's top end and that was just about as fast as I would want to go in that boat. I would think that would be the limit on a CC also since there is less to hold on to at speed.
The best part of a CC is the outboard power with long warranties and ease of maintenance.

It is a great looking boat but it is BIG. The 320 is going to be the boat to have, it seems to be very fast on a single engine and the boat is just as good looking as the bigger 420.Originally Posted by Payton

I'm pretty sure that boat is priced right out of the market for anyone wanting a single. The 29' CC st Laud show was $300kish.Originally Posted by Jupiter Sunsation

I am very happy with my Monte Carlo. You can have 12 people on it and everyone has a comfortable seat. It is boat you can take the family out on and when you don't have the kids it goes 100 MPH.

One only builds a boat like that if the owner comes first. It's not like "field of dreams".
We've entertained building MCOB for a couple of buyers, but the thing that worries us the most is owner 2--the idiot that makes the mistake of putting passengers up there at speed, and the lawsuits that follow after the mishap.
I'd love to see an open bow Apache...

..wait; nevermind!
