Belt slipped off cutting the big hose coming off the water pump of a 502mpi. Limped it to the nearest dock found a hardware store. Bought a PVC pipe 4 hose clamps and a hack saw. Cut the line inserted the PVC 4 hose clamps and finished the poker run! With witnesses to prove it.

A while ago I got the opportunity to go race a POPRA race with some one that was willing to give me a shot. By far the coolest experience of my life period driving the boat while he throttled, I've been a boating enthusiast and driving boats for my whole life but never an experience like that.

Took a special needs child and his Mom for a 30 minute ride at no more than 30mph, His first boat ride and to see his unadulterated joy, unbelievable. His Mom wrote me later that he saluted the flag I gave him before bed every night. Capping it off was my eight year old son saying how lucky he was to not have to deal with that kind of disability. (pretty deep for an eight year old)


Working as a patrol captain for a charity swim in open water, I see a small cruiser running toward the swimmers at about 25-30. Running on an intercept at about 60 and I hear a noise louder than the boat to my right. Look over and a State Police helicopter is 30 feet off the deck running on the same heading , we caught him, turned him around, saved the day, yada, yada, but running with that chopper was bad azz :)

The Otanabee River section of the Rice Lake Poker Run, Does it every time. Switchback after switchback. Chop the the throttles on entry get the boat to tun then open it right up on the way out, turn after turn and the locals lined up shoulder to shoulder onshore waving and going nuts.

Its always fun docking the boat in a packed bar and putting it in the front slip with everybody watching and where nobody thought it was possible.

One of the highlights was taking these three Marines for a ride in our boat, as none of them had ever experienced the thrill that we tend to take for granted.
After the ride, one of the Marines confided that he had been through some very tough circumstances during his service deployments and had struggled to find happiness. He said that the adrenaline rush of the acceleration and the whine of the blowers was nothing short of therapy and that he now felt inspired to get back to enjoying life. That was definitely cool.

Gotta rock the suit. Own it!

Becoming a member of the NWSA (Naked Water Skiers Association). After the fly by, the judges all held up 3's. I thought my skiing performance was at least worthy of 8's or 9's. I was then informed they weren't scoring the skiing itself... :lolhit:
