I wonder how many of these 525 motors have been sold? I believe it has to be there best seller.

Sounds like typical fresh water damage! The salt water exposure allows salt molecules into the oil which allows the viscosity to dilute and prevent sludge! :D

Sounds like you know your stuff. :D

Talked to Mr Young today. Thanks for taking time to answer all

He's the best. I could not tell you how many countless hours I've spoke to him about engines about boats I was looking at and I haven't even given him a motor to rebuild. He's earned my next set of rebuilds… I can tell you that!!

Let's not forget Ron Potter. I think that he may be the king of 525 rebuilds.

Good point. I had forgotten to check with Ron Potter on these 525's. Maybe because he doesn't post on here. If anyone needs info or is considering a boat with some 525's, give Ron a call at the shop. I'm sure he will walk you through the ins/outs of them. Tell him pm203 sent ya. :point: :signs036:

Ron has done work for a lot of ppl I know and they all say the same thing, he truly is one of the best with 525's.
He was one of the first that told me about the Crane Rocker's.

Thanks guys. I enjoy talking about engines and boats. Hell, I just enjoy talking period. I am more than happy to help anyone out that I can.

I'm sure that Ron can build a great 525 as well.
