How 'bout a little less negativity?
 

I know it's Winter and all but seems like in recent years, the threads that get the most response are of a negative nature when solid topics and questions get minimal interest.
Been a member here for a very long time, also belong to many other special interest forums and none have the 'tone' and negative vibe that OSO, unfortunately has deleloped. -Been mentioned before but few, deep in the industry that used to frequent the site stay clear of the site. It's Christmas, lets try to turn the tide a bit and bring back the friendly banter and solid tech discussions!

kurt,it,s almost like clockwork,winter sets in and the negativity flies like snow.maybe because of to much computer time and no boating time.

Kurt this site has changed A LOT.... Nothing like the early days when everyone knew each other ( face to face) and partied with each other. I still remember you drunk on duvall street. Or OSO Steve in garbage can, or driving from OSO headqarters for 3 weeks straight and finishing the trip at the shootout, Dollar Bill past out next to me at a club, Trying to get Greg drunk but him telling me he only does it in KW. Blume trying to save my life in back of ASG house. Brandon and me trashed at automatic slims and then driving all around Fort lauderdale lost because we forgot how to get to his condo. Those days are done but i for sure will never forget them. Some of the people mentioned above i haven't spoken to in yrs but it was some of the best time of my life. Now it's people bashing eachother, compines and so on, which is why more then half that i mentioned above are not on the site no more.....Happy holidays

Hey Mike! Yeah, great days for sure. Back then OSO was like a fraternity, travelling around the circuit with brothers all over the country. We all had eachothers backs, no matter where or what! Hi Mike,You are right on the money any one can trash someone on this site and when they get called on it they just stop the thread.I have been a member hear for a long time and have only 45 posts well 46 after last night.This is why a lot of us just stay off and don't contribute.

Which is a shame. Bob Madera and I talked about this on the phone recently. About how so many talented and knowledgeable builders won't even chime in anymore because of the nonsense and bashing. It's just too bad.

Yes that was a good break from the winter. Too bad Sydways is in Florida I had some real good Winter Chill Outs and great memories and meeting great people!!! He did an excellent job at these parties !!!

OSO is the site that helped create all of the others. Made a lot of friends here, including Biggus ;) Sad tho that the site changed drastically when Steve sold it.
I am on other sites for other things and although the bashing is less, overall I have found that the bashers and negative guys tend to hide in the weeds when called out. And then float to the surface to do it again.

I guess I'm a relative OSO newbie at 9-10 years but I'm an old fart acc to a lot of other people. So us aging water folk need love and laughs too and Christmas and New Years is the time to do it when you don't want to got out for a run with 6 layers of clothes, a ski mask and 0 women. I have gained lots of knowledge reading the wit and wisdom of other (assumed) old farts on this website and agree with a little holiday cheer! This is Christmas the way I was brought up in the far far South and we are supposed to be partying and having a good time with our families. So go to it! Party and have a good time with friends and family like you're supposed to! And quit complaining already. We can handle it! Fix up your boat! Shine it a little! Summer'll be here before you know it!

Well Kurt!! You've had some good replies. But I I will give my 2 cents as well. Why not? I'm young (29) still young to me!! and still learning. A lot of you guys are very intimidating to be honost. I'm sure a "little" older and have been performance boating for many years and through trial and error. You guys have learned a ton and get to tell about it. I guess what I'm saying is please don't stop posting because your knowledge and wisdom will not be around forever. And the negative people...well they are everywhere. They are mearly ignorant only because lack of knowledge and are gullible to believe almost anything they want to believe. You will never see a negative post from me. Unless I was a moderator of course. I'm here to learn and haven't had a whole lot of seat time. I'll be around for years to come and know I will have the same outlook as some of you "senior" OSO Members. Hopefully be a paying member soon. Things have been very tuff lately. So chin UP! And BIGGUS Btw..... Finally got my dad in as a member as DadKraus hahaha. He really wants to thank you again for the jacket. Things like that show there are still great people out there! Good stuff. My number one reason originally to frequent oso years ago, was to learn so much, and I did. I got so tired of hearing the wrong way to do things at the local marina bars, from guys who just never got it. The knowledge shared on here amongst other offshore boaters was fingertips away. It still is to a point, just with more arguing and opinions.

As much as I bitcch and moan, i'd be sick if oso closed down. I would probably have much more free time, but I cant talk to my old lady about camshafts, apache videos, and what nice titts some of the other oso members wives have. :coolcowboy:
