You are correct, there does not seem to be many 38'/388's available for overall. I selected boats under $250K (or very close)

I would make a call for this 40' Skater, it looks good in person, and you may get it at a good price(just speculation on my part, but I am probably right):

Good luck in your search, the three pictures are for the three classified links.

I bet that Eddie at Lake Ozarks Marine or Brett at Performance Boat Center would know of something that is not currently advertised.
Good luck on your search!

We have a 40….a very nice one as far as Skaters go…. It's not a 36, but close. We could take a little off the bow and a little off the stern if need be..:eekdrop:
'12 w low hours. With or without the tilt trailer.. Very well maintained.

I think 36s are hard to buy. They seem to be priced very high compared to 40s and 32s. I guess that's the model everyone wants.

My cousin just went through this search and realized that he could get a nice 40 for the same price as an overpriced 36. The power packages seem to be all over the place in the 36s as well. Almost every 40 classic has what I have, 1100s.

The perfect boat would be a 36 Skater or MTI with Merc 700s but that hasn't caught on yet enough to find a used one.

Now that we have that out of the way……buy my 40 and I'll help ol Tim G. out and buy his 2012 40'..

How does that boat do with the 525s? Very intriguing.

I agree- 368 with 700s would be perfect.

I believe the 525 boat will run 120

Bruce bullock has a used 2009-36/700 Skater for sale.
The 36 skater is strait up an all around great boat, for its size it can take on some pretty nasty water and keep up with the best of them , its easy to tow, and with mild power it's still an ego killer and is just a blast to wheel.
With that being said its no surprise they are holding their value. I'm ok with it! Ha

C5Steve 12-28-2013 08:59 PM

Bill, Bruce Bullock has a nice 2009 36 with 700's. He told me for you to give him a call 281-450-4734.
Good luck

Bruce said previous owner swapped out the 1075's for merc 700's and it has #6's. Nice boat with reliable power

Tim G. 12-29-2013 05:14 PM

That is Joe's old boat.. It had 1075s originally... I believe TNT did the repower to 700s...

Rocket ship with either setup, what would approx max speeds be with both setups? 1075s maintenance costs I've read around here can be ridiculous and fun I am sure:evilb:

yes it was, and yes it did, I bought the 1075's from TNT

SkaterMike82 12-30-2013 10:15 AM

Like Tim said that's Joe's old boat and with the 1075 it was fast. The most we saw out of it was just shy of 165mph. I rode that boat a lot. It was originally built for Bob Teague. Once Joe sold it the new owner swapped with TnT it's 1075 for new 700's as he wanted realiable power. The owner barely uses that boat as it sits on his lift behind his house in Coral Gables and only uses it to go back & force to his other house in Ocean Reef.
