Buy what you want let her find out about it later. The suffering will occur either way, It is just easier to handle the suffering while sitting in you new boat in your new garage.

Every boat I purchased was harder than pulling teeth to get the wife to agree. To the point where each time I was 30 seconds from just giving up, and forgetting the whole thing. but the persistance paid off.
1 18 1/2' Rinker
2 21 Liberator
3 272 Formula
go the finance route. get all the numbers put together. with interest rates so low, if you buy a NEWER boat, you can get a longer term loan ( just don't risk getting upside down of course)
and your payment (if you have one) may be LESS!!!!
boat loans fixed are about 7%, home fixed, 6 3/8, variable home equity 5 1/4 !!! and if it qualifies, you get to write off interest at tax time
and don't take no for an answer, wear her down, she'll break
we're happy now with our Formula but it was a long road.....
good luck,
oh, get a potential buyer for the baja too, gotta sell the whole package

You have to get a boat with a "Woman's Cabin." It has to have all the stuff from home like; a frige, sink , shower, and non portable pottie. Most woman don't care about power and speed, but the only time they care about size is when they get a big cabin.

You can try to work the safety angle. Tell her how much safer a bigger boat will be. If that does not work just find a boat that has a real nice crapper. That is usually high on their list.
