Really, right there at 100 with 600 or so. I believe from the factory they were low 90 with 500s (if im wrong im sure someone will chime in) but I know for a fact mine with 600-625 would hit 100. the guy that has it now totally went through it and has seen just shy of 100 on the limiters with more set up and seat time on the way.

That red Chris cat is a great deal. If you pick up some low hour take out 525's and some used/rebuilt surface drives you would have a relatively cheap and reliable package. But you will need to be prepared to up your $$$ limit and live with the small cockpit. Motors, drives, headers, and rigging are going to be a long way north of the $8000 you have left over to spend. I think it would be difficult to get that boat on the water under $50,000. That would still be a good deal, but at that price there are other boats to look at.

I agree that Chris Cat should run close to 100 with 600's. Great running boats and this red one looks very sharp. If someone is serious about buying a CC, I would check it closely for moisture as they are known to rot.

Doc... I don't think 24 Skaters are all that dangerous... They are just fast enough and handle rough water well enough that you need to pay attention to what you're doing.
I'm always on Texoma with mine, hit me up and I'll take you for a ride.

Tim - thanks - I may do that... Do you/did you ever hang out at Deer Cove over by Grandpappy Point?

No not really, we run over there from time to time but we spend most of our time around the islands and towards Cedar Mills.
We may come up that way some this summer though.
