For what it's worth....
Stay in cape. Rent/buy on water with lift Join FMO If you have a trailer, park it on the side of the house if no lift. Front of house a no-no. Or, I have storage in the cape as well. We have a low salt content here. By the time you run back into the caloosahatchee, you are relatively rinsed...so trailer/ lift effort is minimal. It's Ft. Myers. World class fishing, diving, pleasure and power boating. 2 of the top 10 beaches in the would according to the travel planet. Picnic island. Cabbage key. Fort Myers beach. Lani Kai. Central between Tampa and keys. Port Charlotte and punta gorda to the north, Bonita, Naples and Marco to the south. If you like fishing, googl boca grande. Massive grouper, sharks, tarpin......then in the bokeelia pine island sound you have a lot of backwater. Snook, red fish, reds, drum..... |

I was worried when I moved down from the Great Lakes. It's really not that bad... Boating year round is great. I would come down for a long weekend and tour the area. I'm sure one of us can hook up with you and show you around . You don't want to get stuck in an area that will take you forever to get to the river via boat or far from a good ramp. You will have a better idea of where you have/want to be. I honestly would rent first because your mind may change on where you want to be. We're on the fort myers side of the river. The cape has much to offer and you should find a place in that price range. Plenty of storage units and in/out marina storage. Your boat will be fine for this area and if the gulf gets nasty we have miles of ICW. It's nice to see more performance boaters coming down. Good luck, keep us posted and watch out for the egg beaters!
Here is a link to our state song lol... http://youtu.be/zDgHSVYiq4M |
Nice , video , I will be in touch , the egg beaters hear me comming and they run away haha
