We built the boat with 500s. It ran 78 new. It was in the Cleveland and Miami Boat Shows and I just orderd my 2015 Mustang GT from the original buyer. He has the first 29 Savage on order.
Survey it and go from there. Forget the "naysayers". It will crush any boat of it's size in the rough. |
Thanks Pat! can you confirm if it has the 4 inches ''higher'' deck or the lower one? same deck as radioactive?

I'm lucky! a friend of mine will drive down there to see their 2004 regal 3860. he's gonna take a look at this AT while there and give me his opinion on the boat for me!
will have him to measure the cabin height, although this won't tell me if a higher deck exist or not... |
It's definitely not the newer deck. That mold was not created until 2002-ish calendar year timeframe. It's not that big of a deal/difference though between old and new.
Noticeable? Yes. Drastic? No. |
As stated above, old style topdeck and originally rigged with HP 500's. Also, it's a stick built cabin, not an innerlined cabin as the new AT's..I repped that boat at both the Cleveland show and Miami show. It's a wave crusher for sure and ran mid to upper 70's no matter what kind of water you threw at it. Deep cockpit, big cabin, lot's of room and easy access to the motors...doesn't get much better than that!!

my friend will be on the train tomorrow to get there... will know more soon I guess!

I have talked with Dana several times about this AT.
Here is a video of it over trimmed. Good looking AT. I believe he fixed the fuel smell and I agree Dana will tell you what he thinks you want to hear. Look forward to hearing what your friend says about it in person. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/skuy1vxh5svrfjj/Td0JuP_6uJ |
chief builds some good engines, but i dont know why some one would have chief build only 625s... i would go to tommy for big reliable power, his specialty

thanks for those pictures and video! The boat run herings prop, maybe that explain the rooster instead of being overtrimmed?
