Man been in some good waves on lake mi in all 4 41 sabers, my 28 cig and buddies 38 cig rebuilt for big water and never once were we ever running over 60 in 7-8s let alone been out in that ****. We all must be some idiots for thinking we were in real 4-5s with a occasional 6 and in some eyes they were 10s!!! Sorry but some of these stories all such bs. Somebody please post a video of guys racing in 8-10s?????

This is us running in 2-3s with a occasional 4 in smoke on the water. Best run ever with all 4 sabers running together. 3/4 of the field either went back or didn't go out on the second leg. We hit close to 75mph. I believe jerry and Parn hit over 80 Mr Nykamp can confirm. Point being 4 badass boats running hard in those waves and to believe some of these stories about boating on the Great Lakes and running those speeds, must have been a good dream.

The most violent water , not necessarily the biggest was in Mentor Ohio, Lake Erie 3-4 footers from every direction!! we hit 104 consistently. Busted up just about every boat that raced. Dean and Glass Dave tore the canopy off the bat boat. I'll take spaced out 6-8 footers in O.C. any day off the week ! woo hoo!

yea i forgot about that one, maybe because thats my usual water to run in Mentor had a history of that. Ill never forget chatting with Augie in the parking lot before the race looking out at the water. He looked at me an said "so does this little pond ever kick up or what . . . this da best ya got?". After the race i ran across him in the parking lot again and he looked at me with his hand on his forehead and said "what the FUK was THAT!! . . . that was some nasty schit! . . . come'in at ya from everywhere . . . no way to get a rhythm at all . . . Fuk that schit!" . . . . lol i said welcome to my home waters (course i still crashed lol)

Barring that day i tell ya another place that was particularly nasty was on saturday testing in (i think it was) 09 Saint Clair river. Nine knot current with a twenty plus mile an hour wind in the opposite direction. I tell ya the waves were square, not real huge maybe threes or fours but very close together. It was the roughest snotty chop ever.

Give me the Ocean any day
