Agreed, talk him down on the asking price.

If you are going to let storage be the deciding factor I would be damn certain the 38 will fit. It would suck real badly if that was the case and the first time you went to put it in storage and it didn't fit!!! I wouldn't let the engines be the deciding factor either, since they will both need to be rebuilt at some point. From the post mentioning pro chargers it sounds that you already have the bug for making modifications and going fast.

The down fall to both boats is they are bravo based and bolted to 12K plus pound rigs. I would try to find something that had different drives or try to negotiate a lower selling price. Rebuilding engines can be done on a sensibly budget. Rebuilding engines can also be done in steps, a few thousand here and a few thousand there until you achieve what you want. Now on the other hand in most cases upgrading drives is going to cost at a minimum of around 35K and there is no piecing the bravo’s together to hold the increase of power and weight of the boat(s). You will have to fork out the cash all at once for the SCX or Arneson conversion.
Just another way of looking at it.

Find some other black thunders to look at also.

IMO its either a sit down go fast boat with a 100mph+ top speed in mind or a badazz Black Thunder with the best cabin, amazing wave crusher, great handling, impressively fast, show stopper!

No offense to anyone but there are zero black thunder rollovers. There are multiple donzi 33zx, 38zx, and 43zx rollovers. Just not an impressive hull compared to the Much better ZR series.

I would get a bigger truck and a new girl friend. Oh yeah, grow a pair and buy the boat YOU want

Just buy the speed master bit and be done with it. Problem solved

Who needs a girl friend when you have a Donzi? That is like taking sand to the beach.

:offtopic:

She might be reading, she likes the looks of the Donzi but loves the room in the BT. I'm just trying to get her to understand we don't need all that room. The Donzi comes with a filler cushion so we could always sleep on it instead of up in the berth area. I thing the seating area is big enough to entertain, not that we do. So all I need to do is get the camper top and I should be good with. 90% of the time it's just the two of us anyways.
