I would stay far away from a boat with black paint / gel. I have steered clear of boats with darker colored vinyl for the same reason. Just too hot. I would recommend hiring a captain as earlier said and go get a mid 30's boat with twins. Find a deal. Keep resale in mind. Some boats have a cult following and can be unloaded with a bit more ease than the boat your looking at. Example (Active Thunder, Cig, Fountain) You have so many options in the 100k price range. No disrespect to the owner of the Nordic but that would not even be in my top 10 boats in that price range right now. Take a look at the classifieds on here, Pier57.com and Grand Sport Center. Much better deals to be had. Good luck with your search.

While I agree you will want more in a short period of time, 100-150 hours of getting your ass kicked in a small boat is driving experience you can't buy. I put several hundred hours on my smaller boats. Learn how to safely operate one of those and everything else is easy.

That boat is up here in the Pacific NW. If you are from here the black won't be too bad since it doesn't get too hot up here but like the others said it will be hot if you are in a hot climate. Get the headers and motor tested. The Heat will be a great boat.

If you like the 35 Nordic take a look at the one for sale on Riverdavesplace.com. It is an amazing boat, friend of mine owns it and you could not buy from a better owner. He is over the top on detail and maintenance as well has brand new motors and drives. Boat is better then brand new

Lots of good advice above. 2006 was about the last year for the header problems I believe. there are a few threads here on the subject you should read, if they have not been changed out then I would negotiate for replacement allowance.

Otherwise, If thats what you want, go for it, just be sure and have someone with experience show you the ropes, take a boater safety course.

Enjoy.

I owned a 24 Baja for many years and moving to my new 35 ZR was a major difference. I'm still babying it and not comfortable but all things take time. The other post all make sense you can do it but Learn it gradually taking baby steps. Even if you start with a smaller boat your still going to feel out of sorts when you move to a bigger one. Just go with someone who knows the boats and can teach you docking, speed, turns etc.

The 35 Nordic is a nice boat. The 28 Heat with single would suffice for a novice but I wouldn't advise against buying a 35. This boat is Beertruck's boat. expensive flame job was done by Mike Lavallee. Forum member Dean Ferry here on the board has a 35 for sale as well. PM him.

here's a picture I took of Beertruck's at our local poker run back a while ago.

Want to add more opinion by an owner who had one! He had an 1800 HP 35 [ owns a 42 OL now,lol ] called it a lake boat,LOL. Guess his OLnow is a lake boat compared to an 80 Magnum, haha.

It will measure 35 ft when the first time boater is trying to dock that clear coat paint job There are about 10 people in this country that can touch that flame job up.
