O wow really I was hoping to see 70 MPH out of this set up

04Baja242islandr 02-05-2014 04:59 PM

15hp = 1mph, i am gaing 150 hp / by 15 = 10MPH so boat used to top out 55, I should expect 65MPH Is that basically how that eqaution works???

are you running a bravo drive? if so and you have a couple grand put -2 imco lower unit on the drive if your ex dimension is burried. see where your prop shaft is sitting in relation to the bottom of the hull. a -2 drive could give you an extra 5 mph but i would wait to see how it runs with this set up. i am guessing you would start with a 24Pitch 4 blade prop and go from there

The guys you know with 24OL 550HP Do you happen to know good pitch set up for the prop, Mechanic advised re propping will be required with this new engine, He suggested with out test run ofcourse he is thinking 4 blade 22-24 is prolly where I will end up and top out 60-65. Any thoughts?? I really want to see 70MPH even if its empty on fuel and I throw the old lady over board

We have twin 6.2's in an envision. Pushing 380 hours - no issues since 2004. I say that & something will happen this year but they have been a reliable motor for almost 10 years now.

475hp, and a relatively light weight boat, and your bravo should be able to live for a while, may want to look into external hydraulic steering (assuming you don't have it already). You may also want to look into a drive shower, if you do extended high speed runs.

Main thing is don't hammer it from a dead stop.
