Wow!

The reason that Fountain ran so go in the rough is because it was actually a Cigarette hull that Reggie put his deck on! :eekdrop:

Yup. Not even comparable to a Cig or Apache. The Cigs and Apaches are on a whole nother level of bad azz. I think Ohio Steel running with Tweet Revenge in this video was a total farce! In the real world of offshore powerboating, there have been many many claims from owners of 35 Cigs saying how when it gets rough, the 42 Fountains just cant keep up with them. This video is a joke. I bet there was a 35 Cig in this race, except he was a lap ahead of everyone, and that's why you don't see it. :bunnydance:

How about some video of harrahs from back in the day, or more recently, Walter Collins and tko! His problem was that every time he beat the unbeatable fountains, he was kicked up a class, running in p1 without a canopy! Seems real fair to me!

mptrimshop 02-06-2014 05:30 PM

Oh **** ..... Mild thunder has had enuf of the hazing!! He is going after them all.... And has hours of footage for ammo!!

Easy Shaun! It's all in good fun. M/t likes all boats, but likes busting balls the most!

pinball 02-06-2014 05:51 PM

i don t know what would happen if we raced against a flexible flyer in any type of rough water.

Can we please leave politics out of this thread. :hijack:

We've all had the Fountain spinout at LOTO jammed down our throats from the moment it happened, hell they were even reporting it on the news. About what a dumbazz the driver was, how fountains suck, typical fountain driver, yada yada.

The only plus side I can see from that Fountain spinout episode, was A. everyone stayed inside the boat. And B. A 22 FT Baja did not run through the same water unscaved seconds before. Then we have this.

SSSHHH!! Don't tell them that! lol.

It is really all in good fun, and if this was at a bar or hangout, I'd have nothing but a smile exchanging ball bustin. But you're right on. I love all boats. Cigs, Sutphens, Formulas, apaches, Donzi's, Checkmates, etc. My favorite ones are the ones guys restored or built themselves, big or small.

In all seriousness, the Sutphens are BAD AZZ. The original video I posted because I loved watching them two boats run together. Really good old fashioned racing, and would love to have been in either boat ! :coolcowboy:

Hi Jamie, this wasn't aimed at mt or anyone in particular , just pointing out the truth, Walter was treated like a red headed step child, and the common concessions was that was because he didn't run a fountain, just my two cents.

Raced against Heartbeat years later came to find out they were the biggest cheaters ever.

that is how they won every race, was right next to them in key west when they stuffed so hard they hit the reef.

Also raced against Harrahs, don't think they cheated, but they never broke down, fast boat.

With all the time M/T has on his hands, it would almost seem like his boat is in the repair shop all summer. :party-smiley-004:

Well it's about time you came to your senses Joey. Now you are talking like you know something. I knew sooner or later you would see it in the real world light.!!!!!!

The 35 Cigarette didn't have to race that day because he was so far in front of all the others in points they stayed on the dock drinking chocolate Martini's

I wish it was summer. Its -2 here at the moment, so boating is out of the question.

Ironically enough.....the guy driving this sutphen that rolled is the same guy that was driving the heartbeat boat when they stuffed so hard it punched his hands thru the dash and the boat broke in half. I believe his name is Kurt Harbour. I think he just liked driving boats loose and fast. He had some cool boats though.

I was wondering when we might hear from ICEDDPPOSF:ODFIJD:OILFUOIDJGLLL on this. I just KNEW he'd have an opinion.

sommerfliesby 02-06-2014 07:53 PM

Don't see too many Sutphens in these parts...but there WAS one at 31st Street Marina the weekend of the in-water boat show. Total old-school...looked like a 27 or 30...dry pipes...sounded nice and healthy.

wstultz 02-06-2014 07:59 PM

They're all cool. Fountain, ciggy, Apache, AT, sutphen. those are some sweet race vids. I've never seen the one of buckshot and heartbeat in key west. Looked like a fun run.

tomtbone1993 02-06-2014 08:31 PM

I would not know what a STTTuphen was if not for WStultz...they are nice riding boats.

they weren't cracked,,I added 4(all synthetic) and removed 2 for ease of engine work..And I am a little hard on the equipment,,that vid,my rev limiter was in the boat.my daughter.
at least she let me have some fun for awhile.
I need a bigger boat,,anyone want to buy.

I remember running in a few of the old Pier 33 Poker Runs, and Nas-T was in them. I think he had Lambo's in it, and it sounded like a heard of bees going by.

What proof do you have of this? Was this after the boat was sold from Art?

The way I understand it, Art Lilly is the sole reason that boat won so much. Heartbeat ran 85mph...period...in anything. Takes a different kind of man to run a boat that hard in all conditions. I've been told that the sticks were bungied forward and you had to PULL back to left off. Then let it snap right back to WOT.
