1st boat was a 17 foot Checkmate with a 140 hp Johnson. I was 16 years old. I now have a 30 foot Scarab Sport with twin Merc 250 efi's. I am in the beverage industry.

Re: OK members: What was your first boat?
Born in Febuary boating by April, I believe an old Thompson tri-hull. Then grew up in my Dads 1979 18' Checkmate Eluder open bow w/ 200hp Merc that he bought new. I bought my first around age 21, 1979 17' Checkmate Trimate IV Open Bow w/ 140hp Mercruiser I/O. 45 MPH all day long with very little boat in the water, a blast named "Mississippi TURD". Currently on my second Checkmate, 1993 218 Persuader. Designer for Off-Road Machine Seat Mfg.

Technically I had 14' alumacraft as kid with a 9.9 outboard, and then when I was 16 I bought myself a Tigershark jet ski.
As far as a real boat goes I just got my first at the age of 26 (October 2nd one of the happier days of my life), it's a 1995 36' Apache.

No, not hooked to the blazer. I don't know if the blazer would pull the trailer empty. I pull her with a 2005 Dodge 3500 SRW, with a cummins in it. Even then I know she is behind me.
